If you could bottle a single moment,
what would it smell like?

My fascination with scent began in childhood.
They were simple markers of places and people,
of things feeling right—or slightly off.
At some point, I noticed how my grandfather's
shoe polish and the home's aged wooden floor
planks had fused with my grandmother's perfume.
This fragrance enveloped me, a hauntingly
sweet sense of belonging.

Over time, scent became something more:
deep impressions that linger in memory—
bright and joyous, dark and mysterious,
ephemeral.

A longing to hold on to what is fleeting
birthed the idea of Sorrow & Song,
and with it a small collection of
botanical perfumes— natural
essences of woods, resins,
grasses, and flowers.
